Scholarship Background
Carl's scholarship, known formally as "The Dr. Carl Richard Jackson Scholarship" was established on the 27th October 2009 with the signing of a Deed by Carl's mother, Cathy Jackson, and Professor Bruce Robinson, Dean of the faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney.
The intent of the Deed is to establish a permanent endowment to provide annual scholarship awards to Australian medical students who are enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine and who are prepared to gain experience in a country with a developing economy. The Deed states the Terms & Conditions for the Scholarship.
The first two awards under the scholarship were announced on the 29th October 2009.
